I had the distinct honor of sitting in on a lecture given by the Minister of Culture of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, Brother Emory Douglas. He was the man responsible for the artwork, design and layout of the BPP’s periodical, The Black Panther. His presentation at the W139 reminded me that art serves as accoutrement to revolution. His presentation was extremely inspirational for me as the brave brothers and sisters of the BPP helped to shape the political philosophy I adhere to today. With that said, let it be known that the Panther’s 10-Point Platform has never come to fruition in any of the world’s Black communities. There is still much work to do, as the revolution has not commenced…
