Marked one thing off of my bucket list this past weekend; I finally got to go to London’s Notting Hill Carnival. I must say, no other group on the face of the earth represents their hood like African and Caribbean folks; take as an example the gentleman pictured above representing Nigeria. Since 1964 the African-Caribbean community has been celebrating their heritage and plight on the last Sunday and Monday of August. I admire when folks can be proud of their countries sans blind patriotism and connotations of superiority. This was honestly one of the best parties I’ve ever been to in my life. I will surely be back to jump and whine next year…
